In Berkeley Springs, WV, we all care about the future and the environment, so Mountain View Builders builds homes that are comfortable and energy/resource efficient. We have cultivated relationships with environmentally responsible building professionals and can incorporate the following technologies in your new Design/Build Home:

Geothermal Heating: Also called a ground source heat pump, this technology utilizes latent solar energy in the earth to heat and cool your home extremely efficiently and comfortably.

Superior Walls®: Building with the industry's leading precast foundation wall systems helps increase the value of your home. Superior Walls are fast and efficient, providing savings on new home construction cost. The Superior XI® walls include extra insulation built into the walls during the manufacturing process. This extra insulation saves you energy expenses during the heating season and eliminates the cooling loads that would normally be needed on the lower level. The heating load in the lower level is satisfied with radiant heat built into the 6” basement slab.

Radiant Heating: Radiant floor heating has been used for centuries. Radiant floor systems allow even heating throughout the whole floor, not just in localized spots as with wood stoves, hot air systems, and other types of heating. Radiant heating also eliminates the draft and dust problems associated with forced-air heating systems.

Solar Electric: The US currently relies heavily on coal, oil, and natural gas for its energy. These energy sources are nonrenewable—they draw on finite resources that are becoming scarce, too expensive and are damaging the environment. In contrast, renewable energy resources—such as solar energy—are constantly replenished and will never run out. At MVB we implement Solar Energy technologies to augment electrical, hot water heating and solar cooling systems in a variety of ways.
